HISTORY OF THE VALKYRIE COALITION
The Beginning
The Valkyrie Coalition was not always what it is today. There once was a time where our members were not as well regulated or professional, and our primary focus and objective was to ensure the safety of players in online public games. We were indeed a Player versus Player community, but in more of a peacekeeping capacity. We operated under the 48th Airborne Infantry Division of the Russian Airborne Troops (founded on December 27th, 2013) for six months before temporarily disbanding. One fateful night, while the then Lieutenant Colonel Müller, who at the time was the Commanding Officer of the 48th Airborne Infantry Division, was killing time on Sandy Shores airfield, a certain Canadian drove to him and began a conversation. This person brought about the idea of an alliance. A coalition if you will. This Canadian was the then Major Wolfe, who was the Commander of Canadian Forces-San Andreas. Once the Coalition was formed, the name of the Valkyrie Coalition was quickly decided and an unlikely team of combatants was born.

The Early Coalition
The VCAF was formed under the guise of being more of a role play-centering group where, instead of engaging players online, the VCAF would be simply playing against NPC enemies in missions and gang attacks while simulating. The uniforms took many shapes and colors in the early days of the VCAF, where the members would use anything from tan cargo pants with vests to flight suits with parachutes using the flag chute bags as a way of identifying one's country. Then, upon the horizon, the Last Team Standing update was released. Finally, a uniform was set and put into effect, that same uniform is still used even today due to it's usefulness. The coalition at the time was open to represent any country. Present at the time was Canada (the now oldest and longest serving cohort in the VCAF), Russia (the founding cohort that has since been disbanded), France (since been disbanded), and Jamaica (since been disbanded). While there was no set command structure and memberships fluctuated constantly, the formation was consistent enough to establish a way to join. Eventually, in came the Crucible. A rigorous test still practiced today that tests patience, endurance, and physical ability that is still required for all to pass in order to graduate their Basic Military Training. The early coalition still operated under a system of mixed crews and did not have a strict guideline or regulations for cohorts, uniforms, or vehicles. Eventually the VCAF fell into dormant state where members were left alone and the concentration was shifted to other games or groups.

The Valkyrie Coalition Officially Begins
The idea was brought to notion by Lieutenant Colonel Müller to bring the VCAF back to the light with five participant countries to hit it off. Regulations were written for literal hours in sittings by administrators and members were recruited by representatives. The Russian cohort was then transformed into the German cohort and led by the now Oberstleutnant Müller with the assistance of the Canadian cohort, led by the now Colonel Wolfe. These were the first Head Board Administrative Members. The Board of Administrators consisted of the Commandants of the various cohorts that were formed, including the French cohort led by Colonel Montcalm, the United States cohort led by Brigadier General Adams, and the United Kingdom cohort led by Air Chief Marshal Gallahan. All were members of the VCAF and all united under the Valkyrie Coalition Delta as seen at the top left of the page. The coalition grew gradually and, with time, restrictions and regulations became in place to ensure a realistic and consistent role play. Each person was interviewed by a board member personally and reviewed before the head board. Each person was trained and instilled with our values, ideals, and knowledge of proper military guidelines. This was, however, not without it's falls.

The Fall and The Reaper Incident
The day once came when a highly relied upon member began abusing authority and influence to try and bend coalition rules and regulations. Making arguments with admins about justifying unrealistic role play aesthetics such as; unrealistic uniforms, out of regulation facial hair, using inappropriate uniforms and weaponry, etc. The Reaper incident was seen as a small issue that grew into a larger one due to the argument case brought about in violation of conduct guidelines in the coalition. The incident resulted in the expulsion and later permanent ban of the individual in question, however it left the coalition's strength crippled with the French, American, and British cohorts either collapsing due to a lack of members or members being removed due to inactivity. The VCAF was forced to adapt and overcome, learning from it's mistakes.

The Reformation
The VCAF was reformed to adopt new guidelines for members and their desire for what cohort to join, their professions, and the realism it backs. Claiming to be the most realistic MilSim role play group, it breaks it's back every day to provide their members with a realistic experience with not only plenty of action, but necessary training to effectively do their job. We've even come as far as collaborating with emergency services crews providing elements for air search and rescue, counter terrorism, disaster relief, and day to day operating of our bases. The VCAF has had a rough and rocky road but due to it's outstanding member's input and planning and coordination from command staff, we feel we have brought our experience together to stand against our enemies and stand with our allies ready to act any time and anywhere. That's right, anywhere. The VCAF has even brought forward to notion the action of deploying it's members to other games! The VCAF holds a presence in not only San Andreas, but also Bolivia and Iran. Our cohorts may have changed but since our reformation, we are more professional and organized than ever. Even to the degree of our crew emblem being country specific. The VCAF is here to serve San Andreas in the long run, will you be here to serve the VCAF for the long run?

The New Coalition
As the years have gone by, the Valkyrie Coalition has seen changes we thought it'd never see; two new Cohorts, those being the reformed United Kingdom Cohort, now staffed and running better than ever before, and the brand new Australian Cohort. The Four Cohorts: Canada, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom are once again determined to advance our community into the future. We have experienced hardship however; members have come and gone, Administrators have betrayed the Coalition's trust, and tensions with another community reached a breaking point, but thanks to diplomatic means from both parties, the situation was resolved. The Coalition once again stands on the precipice; will we fall like so many others before us? Or will we continue our great and noble legacy into the future for generations to come, the question remains however; will you be apart of it?
